About SOURCE

Our story

Over the summer of 2017, a group of three international students founded Source Humanitarian Network (SOURCE). Our first project involved constructing an educational centre in Kakuma Refugee Camp and sponsoring the creation of the refugee-led organisation, Solidarity Initiative for Refugees (SIR) – which manages the daily operations of the facility.

This centre has since grown along with the support of various partners to include 7 classrooms and provides educational programs for several thousands of students in coding, general education, digital literacy, women’s empowerment, and information technology. The SOURCE team has also grown to include 15 team members from all over the world, who along with the talented and highly dedicated local SIR team, continue to pursue the aim of breaking down barriers through technology, helping refugees further their career and life goals.
