KARIBU is a photography book about Kakuma Refugee Camp, created and sold by Source co-founder Leonardo Carlo Calisse.

The title, translates to “Welcome” in Swahili, reflecting the warmth, resilience, and hospitality of a community where over 300,000 people from across Africa coexist. Through vivid imagery, KARIBU aims to convey the spirit of Kakuma’s inhabitants, the surrounding tribal cultures, and the striking natural landscapes that frame the camp.

All proceeds from the book will be invested in career training and livelihood programs within Kakuma Refugee Camp. These programs are designed to empower refugees by fostering self-reliance, transitioning from dependency on humanitarian aid to self-sustaining, skills-based programs that leverage their capabilities.

The book is printed in Cologne by a small print shop and bound by hand by a bookbinder. Due to the labour involved, production can take 4-6 weeks.
